Frampton on Severn Sailability is recognised as a Foundation Level Group by the RYA.

Our aim is to enable people of all abilities to safely enjoy the experience of sailing and being on the water.

We operate every Saturday from the beginning of April until October, between the hours of 9.30 am and 1.00 pm

2016 Sessions are as follows:

9th April - 21st May (Every Saturday at 09:30 until 13:00)

31st May - 5th July (Every Tuesday Evening at 18:00)

16th July - 1st October (Every Saturday at 09:30 until 13:00)

Qualified RYA instructors are available to help the sailors to achieve the relevant certificates, but the main aim is for the participants to enjoy being on the water.

We have a variety of boats that we use; the main ones are 2 Access 2.3 single handed dinghies, 6 Access 303 two man dinghies and a Drascombe Lugger. These are specifically designed for disabled sailors. We also have use of the clubs Wanderer and Gull dinghies, plus the use of the clubs Powerboats both for rescue and transporting members around the lake. Thanks to so generous donations and grants we are purchasing a Wheelyboat, which will take 5 wheelchairs at once to enable us to give the more physically handicapped the experience of being on the water.

We have a Portaloo disabled toilet and shower unit, plus two hoists that can be fixed on the jetty lifting the disabled into the boats.

Our group presently number about 40.

We are grateful to some local charities such as Mayfield Home Trust, Tony Neather Fund, Comic Relief Sport Aid, Sport England and local Rotary and Round Table groups for the help in the acquisition of equipment.

The Sailability group is an integral part of the sailing club and as such the participants are full members of the club
