Youth RYA Level 2 2019 Complete

Youth RYA Level 2 2019 Complete Saturday, 29/06/2019, as well as being the hottest day of the year so far, reaching a blistering 32 C, was the final day of the Youth RYA Level 2 course. 10 junior members took part in the youth RYA level 2 this year in some challenging conditions, ranging from strong gusty winds to no wind resulting in just bobbing on the lake. Steve Brooks did an excellent job of leading the course supported by a team of experienced instructors with plenty of knowledge they are kind enough to share. Congratulations to all the young sailers who threw themselves into the course and passed with flying colours. Hopefully they will go onto gain further experience

Disability Awareness Training Course The Disability Awareness Training Course is open to ​ANYONE​ from the sailing club and will be held on ​Saturday 30th March​ from ​9.30 am.​ RYA Sailability’s Disability Awareness Training course is designed for both volunteers at sailing clubs and Instructors at commercial centres. It uses the latest teaching methods, based on the social model of disability.Around 1 in 5 people in Great Britain have a disability, so understanding the barriers that prevent people taking part in our sport is really important. These can be physical barriers, but they can also be psychological barriers. The course uses scenario based teaching to help participants recognise these barriers and how to overcome them. The course also looks at improving communications skills, the Equality Act
