RYA Powerboat Courses
RYA Powerboat Level 2
The RYA PB2 course enables persons to gain recognised qualifications in operating powerboats up to and including planning hulls. The course is run over one weekend using 2 full days. At the end of the course candidates will be able to operate tiller controlled power boats safely and in accordance with RYA procedures.
The course is taught by RYA trained instructors as 3 candidates and 1 instructor per boat. The course is conducted both on the water and in the Club House.
Priority will be given to candidates 16 or older.
Clothing: Waterproof coats, trousers are recommended.
Boats: Tiller controlled power boats.

24th and 25th October - full days; plus Saturday 31st October - half day top up session to gain familiarity with the club's console controlled boats powerboats where the helm sits in the middle of the boat and uses a steering wheel and throttle to drive the boat)

RYA Safety Boat
A 2 day course which further develops your powerboat handling skills and covers techniques for small craft rescue, also race management duties and standing by racing and/or training fleets. Powerboat training is available for members only. Minimum age 16 years.

Powerability
The Powerability scheme complements and increases accessibility to the RYA Powerboat Scheme. It comprises of a series of tasks which when successfully completed lead to certificates, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Powerability training is available during some Sailability sessions and will be undertaken by a Powerboat Instructor.
