Frampton Juniors
Welcome to Junior & Family Sailing at Frampton on Severn Sailing Club (FOSSC)
FOSSC is a vibrant, friendly community where young sailors and families can learn new skills, build confidence on the water, make friends, and enjoy everything our beautiful lake has to offer. Whether you're completely new to sailing or already racing, there's a place for you here.
Our junior programme runs all year round, blending structured training, fun social sailing, friendly racing, and big annual events that bring the whole club together. Families are always welcome - to sail, to support, or simply to enjoy the atmosphere.

What We Offer
Monthly Junior Club
Our popular Junior Club meets once a month and is open to all junior members. Sessions mix on-the-water games, skill-building activities, and plenty of fun. Parents can stay and help, relax at the clubhouse, or use our simple sign-in system for drop-and-go (you need to leave contact details and sign in and out).
Find out more on the Junior Club page
RYA Junior Training
We run a full programme of RYArecognised training for ages 718, from firsttime sailors in Optimists through to advanced Youth Sailing Scheme stages. Training is the best pathway into confident independent sailing and racing, and eventually Junior Week.

Junior Racing & Rookie Racing
For juniors who want to try racing - or improve their skills - we run dedicated Junior and Rookie racing throughout the year. These sessions are friendly, supportive, and perfect for building confidence before joining the main club racing. Sailing is very unusual in that 7 year olds, 37 year olds and 70 year olds can race against each other on a level playing field!
Junior Week
The highlight of the FOSSC year! Junior Week is a legendary mix of sailing, games, team challenges, camping, cake, costumes, and memories that last a lifetime. Open to sailors in school years 613, its run by an amazing team of volunteers and past Junior Week sailors.
Friday Night Social Sailing (Summer)
Warm evenings, relaxed sailing, families on the water, and often a BBQ or takeaway - Friday nights are a brilliant way to unwind and enjoy the lake together.
Bank Holiday Weekenders
Across the year we run special family-friendly weekend events with games, informal sailing, and activities on and off the water. Perfect for new members to get involved.
Other Benefits
Parents' WhatsApp and Moderated Junior WhatsApp Groups
We run a safe, moderated WhatsApp group for juniors to keep in touch, find out whos sailing when, and stay connected with club activities. Parents can request access for their juniors at any time. Parents also have their own group for communicating/asking questions etc.
Duke of Edinburgh Volunteering
We support juniors completing their DofE volunteering section, often through helping with Sailability or club activities.
Winter Board Games Club
When the weather turns cold, we move indoors! Our monthly board games club is a cosy, friendly way for juniors, families, and all club members to stay connected through the winter. Bring a game you want to play, or just turn up and learn a new one! The bar is open for drinks and snacks.
A Community That Grows As They Grow
Many of our young sailors go on to become Assistant Instructors, Dinghy Instructors, and Junior Week leaders. Some have even gone on to use those skills teaching sailing abroad in the summer or on gap years! Whether you're here for fun, fitness, friendship, or future qualifications, were here to support your journey.
