Wow, what an amazing time we had at this year's Junior Week! The weather was almost perfect - sunshine, but not too hot, and a decent bit of wind so we were actually able to do plenty of sailing!!

You may have seen some of the Juniors around the club sporting their sunny yellow hoodies and caps…

How lovely it was to open the week up to some younger Juniors - this year we offered a two-day Junior Mini Week for 7-10 year olds alongside - where Mark Carver worked in collaboration with the Junior Week Coaches to ensure the 'mini's were incorporated into teams and supported to feel safe and have lots of fun!

All of them dived headfirst into a week of sailing, splashing, and spirited competition. Yellow, Blue, and Pink teams battling it out with plenty of classic games that kept everyone on their toes, and often in the water!

Ellen and Teilo led our stellar team of coaches; Hayden, James, Josh, Martha, Sam, Sophie, and Torri (all Junior Week alumni themselves), the week was jam packed with imaginative challenges and so much energy!

The 60 Years of FOSSC theme brought some interesting interpretations - with one team picking 60 yr old Mark Carver as their mascot!

We also saw an amazing Severn Bridge hat (to represent the history of the lake as a gravel pit that helped to build local infrastructure)!

The coveted Peter Crowley Trophy, awarded to the junior who best embodied the spirit of Junior Week, went to Silas Marshall. Silas's enthusiasm, kindness, and sportsmanship - really helping and supporting the younger members of the team - made him a unanimous pick by the coaches.
Thank You!
To the whole coaching team - your energy, creativity, and dedication are the heartbeat of Junior Week. You make magic happen, and we're endlessly grateful.

To the parents, grandparents, and other volunteers - thank you for galley duty, safety boat stints, marquee wrangling, cake baking, photography skills and everything in between. For those who stepped up and saw something needed doing and did it without asking, thank you, your quiet heroism keeps the week running smoothly.

And tell your friends! We have spaces for up to 44 juniors, and this year we only had 27 participants - we'd really love to have more people enjoying the fun. They need to be able to sail - but there's plenty of time to get them signed up for the RYA 1+2 courses and then they can join in next year!
