What are you doing on the August Bank Holiday weekend?
If you're looking for some free fun activities to keep the kids active over the weekend (and maybe even have some fun yourself!) we have four days of great stuff planned for FOSSC Members and their guests.

For anyone who attended the May Bank Holiday Weekender, it's reasonably similar - you can come for the whole weekend or just bits of it - we'd love for you to come and camp onsite and using the club's facilities, and there's games and racing planned, so there should be something that appeals to most members!
Friday Night (28th) we'll be Sailing to Midnight - an opportunity to decorate your boat with lights and enjoy the sail - all boats on the water from 8pm onwards must carry some form of lighting. (Just make sure your boat insurance is OK with sailing in the dark - usually they're fine about one-off events if you let them know beforehand!)
Saturday (29th) were planning on lots more of the fun that the Juniors (and some adults!) love - all are welcome to join in, don't be shy - we're planning classics like Boat Ball, Simon Says Sail, Collect the Balls etc - and finishing with Mast Climbing, and then onto a Board Games Social for the evening.
Sunday (30th) there will be more on-the-water shenanigans for all ages in the morning, with a Build-Your-Boat Relay, an Anagram Race and an opportunity to Rescue The Coaches (if time allows! Otherwise we may just have to leave them stranded!) Then in the afternoon there will be some more serious racing as we have the coveted Frampton Paddle - alongside some on-land games for our non-racing members, a BYO BBQ, and in the evening, an opportunity to flex your brain with a free, fantasy-themed fun general knowledge team quiz. You're assured of a Kraken Good time!
Monday (31st) we're planning on finishing the weekend with a day of fun activities, including the ever-popular Boat BOV! We also have some fun races planned for the afternoon - it's time to introduce FOSSC to the phenomenon that is 3v3 Tactical Team Racing, which is very popular at University Sailing Clubs!
Each race is VERY short - under 10 minutes - and it's all about teams using the rules of racing so their team can win on points. Everyone is in an identical boat, and it's not as much about being fast as it is about being FIENDISH!! Very strategic and sneaky! Should be good for spectators as well as those taking part...
